Coach’s Corner

Check out Coach Cullen's lastest recognition as water polo coach: http://www.southwestwaterpolo.com/article.php?sid=474

Congratulations and keep up the good work in the water.
Hints to improve water polo skills:
Leg strength is the foundation of your shot and block. One inexpensive
way to build leg strength is by using a 5 gallon bucket and drilling a
few holes in the bottom. The player fills the bucket up with water and
treads to lift up the bucket enough to let the water drain out.
5 gallons of water weigh more than 45 pounds!
The great thing about it is that of you are not strong enough to lift
5 gallons then pour some out and try 4.
I make my players tread 12 sets of 15 seconds each with 15 seconds
rest.
You can get a great leg workout in less than 10 minutes.
